Lebanese media reported today, Wednesday, that gunfire had occurred towards the American Embassy in the Awkar area in Lebanon Mount. The Lebanese LBC channel said that continuous gunfire was heard for about half an hour in the vicinity of the American Embassy in the Awkar area, north of Beirut. The channel said that "the road leading to the American Embassy from Dbayeh and Awkar was cut off." It reported that one of the shooters was killed at the American Embassy in Mount Lebanon. The Lebanese Army said in a statement: 'The American Embassy in Lebanon in the Awkar area was exposed to gunfire by a person of Syrian nationality. Army members deployed in the area responded to the sources of fire, wounding the shooter. He was arrested and transferred to a hospital for treatment.
