The Maysan Criminal Court issued a life imprisonment sentence against a drug dealer for the crime of trafficking in narcotic substances. The Media Center of the Supreme Judicial Council stated in a statement that 'the convict was seized in his possession of the narcotic crystal substance after it was transporting it from Maysan Governorate to Baghdad Governorate with the intention of trading in it and selling it among drug users.' He added, "The ruling was issued based on the provisions of Article 28/First of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017." Source: National Iraqi News Agency
