NABLUS: Several Palestinians suffocated today during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces near Jabal Sbaih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, according to eyewitnesses. According to sources, confrontations broke out following a military incursion into Jabal Sbaih. Forces stormed the Jabal Sbaih area, amid the firing of live and rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas bombs, which led to the suffocation of several residents. Residents of the town of Beita today performed Friday prayers at Jabal Sbaih following calls by the town's factional coordination committee. It should be noted that the Israeli Cabinet approved the legalization of the illegal colonial outpost of Avitar; built on the top of Jabal Sbaih, along with four other illegal colonial outposts in the West Bank. Residents have been staging rallies in protest of Israeli colonial expansion atop Jabal Sbeih (Sbeih Mountain) in Beita. Source: Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA
