Azraq: Students in the Emirati-Jordanian camp for Syrian refugees in Mrajeeb Al Fhood, Azraq district, east of Amman, attended school on Sunday, marking the start of the new academic year 2024-2025, according to the director of the Emirati relief team, Saleh Abdulrahman al-Tunaiji. "The camp administration worked to secure the needs of students from bags containing stationery, in addition to the official school uniforms for male and female students," Al-Tunaiji said in a statement. "The Emirates Red Crescent, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education in Jordan, is committed to providing education for Syrian refugees in the camp," Al-Tunaiji added. The parents of several students conveyed their gratitude to the Jordanian authorities and institutions, as well as the Emirates Red Crescent, for their support and assistance in allowing their children to finish their education following a prolonged break brought on by the events in Syria, their home country. The camp has two primary and secondary schools th at are part of the Zarqa Second Directorate of Education. The schools run on a double shift system, with the morning session designated for female students and the evening period for male students. There is also a kindergarten in the camp.
