Police in Yemen's capital, Sana'a, released deitals on the death of the university student "Rimela Abdulmalik Al-Sharabi" inside her car in mid-February. The Capital Police stated that on Monday, February 12, 2024, it received a report about the disappearance of the 23-year-old student Rimela at Al-Razi University, and immediately after receiving the report, she was investigated and searched, until she was found at five o'clock in the evening on Thursday, February 15, dead inside her car. The Capital Police explained that the security men found the car parked on the side of the main road in the neighborhood of Bir Zahra neighborhood industrial complex in the Directorate of Unity, and the body of the student Rumaila inside in a sitting position on the driver's chair, which was tilted back. It pointed out that the doors and windows of the car were closed, so they were opened by specialists, in the presence of forensic evidence and the prosecution, and it became clear through the examination of the body, the procedures for collecting evidence, the reports of specialists in forensic evidence and the forensic doctor's report that she died inside the car as a result of committing suicide by lighting a quantity of coal and placing it inside a plate inside the car, and closing the doors and windows of the car and inhaling the gas produced by coal, in addition to eating a quantity of sleeping pills. It stated that investigations and evidentiary procedures revealed that she had been subjected to extortion and threats by two people, who had been arrested, and it was clear from witness statements that she had committed a suicide attempt four days before the day of her death.
