The Specialized Criminal Court in Sana'a city convicted on Wednesday three defendants of the crime of drug trafficking. In the session held under the chairmanship of Judge Mohamed Abdullah Al-Sufiani, the court convicted the defendant Abdul Hussain Abdul-Imam Mutawar of the crime of bringing a quantity of four tons and 990 kilograms of narcotic hashish from the State of Pakistan to Yemeni territory and selling it with the intention of trafficking and in cases other than those authorized by law, and the crime of entering Yemeni territory illegally and punishing him with Tazir death. The verdict convicted Essam Mohamed Saleh Abu Awad of the crime of transporting and delivering narcotic hashish and heroin with the intention of trafficking and in cases other than those authorized by law, and punishing him with 25 years in prison starting from the date of his arrest. The court also convicted Nawaf Fayez Mohamed Saleh Abu Awad of the crime of hiding the first convict Abdul Hussein in his house located in the sai lors of peace, Amran Governorate, with the intention of misleading justice and punishing him with imprisonment for a period of one year starting from the date of his arrest.
