Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Tuesday discussed over the phone actions to stop the "dangerous" regional escalation. The two ministers' talks come after discussions between His Majesty King Abdullah II and US President Joe Biden on Monday on de-escalation and restoring calm to prevent an all-out war in the region. Safadi said ending the Israeli war on Gaza would be the "first step" to end the tension and escalation, urging an end to Israel's "illegitimate" measures in the occupied Palestinian West Bank that undermine peace.
