Baghdad: The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Saturday, the downing of a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter, 119 drones, and 5 Atakms missiles belonging to the Ukrainian forces. The ministry said in a statement: 'Russian air defense systems shot down a MiG-29 fighter belonging to the Ukrainian Air Force, 119 drones, 5 American-made Atakms operational tactical missiles, and 10 American-made Himars missiles.' The statement added: "The Russian forces were able to control the town of Shumi in Donetsk, strengthened their positions on a number of battle fronts during the past 24 hours, eliminated 1,435 Ukrainian soldiers, and destroyed 7 ammunition depots.
