The Russian Federation announced that it has monitored cases of Ukrainian armed units using or planning to use chemical agents. According to a report by the Russian Federation: "Since February 2022, detailed information has been sent about the extensive use of chemical agents by Ukrainian forces in violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention." The report added that: "Despite the overwhelming evidence provided by Russia, Ukrainian armed units continue to use toxic chemicals (chlorine, ammonia, ammonium nitrate, and sulfuric acid) against Russian military units, civilians, and representatives of local administrations." It continued: "We will continue to inform the international community of violations of the Chemical Weapons Convention and the real situation in the area of the special military operation, as Russian investigative authorities have documented numerous cases of attempts to poison civilian officials, the use of drones carrying toxic substances along the contact line, and the discovery of caches of chemicals prepared for sabotage in various regions of Russia."
