Baghdad - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced today, Wednesday, that its forces shot down 5 Ukrainian warplanes and 31 drones, and killed about 580 Ukrainian soldiers during the past 24 hours.
The Ministry explained in its daily report on the course of the war in Ukraine that its air defenses destroyed a Su-27 plane in the airspace of Donetsk, eastern Ukraine, and two MiG-29 planes in Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk Province (east), and also shot down two Su-29 planes, and "Su-25" in the Dnepropetrovsk (east) and Kherson (south) provinces.
The ministry indicated that Russian forces destroyed an ammunition depot belonging to the 127th Brigade of Ukrainian Regional Defense in Donetsk, in addition to striking the joint command center of the 10th Corps of Ukrainian forces in Zaporozhye, and also destroyed a radar station for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system in the Odessa region (south). It hit observation points belonging to the 67th Mechanized Brigade and the 31st Brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard in Donetsk, in addition to intercepting 11 HIMARS missiles and two American-made JDAM guided bombs.
