The Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, Muhammad Fares, and the Director of the Council's branch in Hodeida province, Jaber Al-Razhi, were briefed on Saturday on the progress of work in the project to rehabilitate the fish landing center in the city of Hodeida. Fares and Al-Razhi listened to an explanation from the Vice President of the General Authority for Fisheries, Abdul-Malik Sabra, about the maintenance work that had been accomplished, the rehabilitation of the office building, the implementation of the lighting network, the project to deepen the sea gate of the port that is being implemented, and the efforts made to complete the paving project for the square, rehabilitating and restoring all the port's hangars and facilities. Fares stressed the importance of speedy completion of the project due to its importance in improving the infrastructure of the fishery sector and serving fishermen. While the Director of the Council Branch explained that the project is being implemented by the World Bank through the Food and Agriculture Organization as part of the response project to enhance food security and resilience in the Al-Hawak and Al-Hali districts. Al-Razhi pointed out the necessity of preparing an integrated plan for the rest of the fish landing centers in the governorate and the rest of the centers in the districts in order to rehabilitate them. He pointed out that the Desert Locust Control and Control Center affiliated with the General Administration of Plant Protection is currently being rehabilitated by establishing an administration building and equipment stores. Pointing out that the cost of interventions in the two centers is estimated at about 650 thousand dollars.
