Ramallah - Ma'an - The lawyer of the Prisoners' Affairs Authority, Khaled Mahajna, conveyed horrific testimonies from detainees from the Gaza Strip, during his visit to the "Ofer" prison. In a statement issued by the Prisoners' Affairs Authority and the Prisoners' Club, Muhajna said, quoting the detainee (M.A.), that some detainees in Ofer were subjected to sexual harassment after being stripped of their clothes and assaulted in sensitive areas, and they are currently suffering from difficult health and psychological conditions. He added that police dogs attack detainees and tear apart their bodies while their hands are tied behind their heads, in addition to being subjected to beatings and beatings. He pointed out that there are more than 100 sick and wounded detainees without treatment, in light of severe overcrowding in the detention rooms, which are cement rooms that lack ventilation and are no more than five square meters in area, and contain iron beds without mattresses or blankets, and 25 detainees are held in each one of them, most of whom sleep on the floor. He explained that the detainees eat while their hands are tied, and each detainee has one meal throughout the day, which consists of 100 grams of bread, a cucumber or a tomato, and a very small amount of milk. He explained that the bathroom is exposed inside the prison rooms, in addition to the presence of surveillance cameras inside the rooms directed at the bathrooms, while the shower time is still limited to only one minute. Muhajna pointed out, quoting the detainees, that Ofer prison includes two torture wards inside the rooms and that the detainees cannot be seen during their torture, but only their screams can be heard. Recently, the occupation soldiers assaulted all the detainees in "Ofer", which resulted in the breaking of the limbs of many of them. Lawyer Muhajna quoted one of the detainees who was transferred from the "Sde Teiman" camp to "Ofer", saying that one of the sick detainees died after the occupation soldiers refused to prov ide him with the necessary treatment.
