BEIRUT: Israeli fighter jets and artillery carried out a fresh round of missile attacks today targeting several towns and areas in southern Lebanon. Aerial and artillery strikes were reported in the towns of Maroun al-Ras, Houla, Majdal Salem, Al-Hajeer, Marjaayoun, Ayta ash-Shaab, Alma ash-Sha'ab, Dhayra, Tayr Harfah, and Rmeish. In response to the attacks, Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri condemned the massacre carried out by Israel yesterday in the city of Nabatieh, southern Lebanon, resulting in the killing of over 10 people, including a number of women and children. Berri called on the international envoys who are visiting Lebanon, the United Nations and human rights organizations to address 'the bloodshed in Nabatiyeh, Houla, Sawwaneh and Adshit.' 'Don't condemn and deplore but rather act instantly to stop the Israeli killing machine and rein in the leaders of the occupation entity who are taking the region to a destructive war,' he added.
