Baghdad, Ursula von der Leyen was re-elected as President of the European Commission for a second five-year term, after obtaining the approval of the twenty-seven countries to nominate her again last June. Ursula von der Leyen received the support of the members of the European Parliament who met today, Thursday, and obtained 401 votes out of 720 votes. The leaders of the twenty-seven countries in the European Union agreed at the end of June to grant von der Leyen a new five-year term as head of the executive authority that she has held since 2019.
