Sana'a - Saba: A meeting attended by Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Quhaim and Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment Eng. Moeen al-Mahaqeri discussed on Sunday aspects of coordination and cooperation to advance the real estate sector. The meeting, which was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works Yahya al-Sayani and officials of the works in the capital Sana'a and Sana'a province, and the works and housing sectors in the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, and representatives of the General Authority for Lands, and the private sector, addressed the issue of urban planning, and its importance in creating areas and cities that attract investment. In the meeting, Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed the keenness to take the necessary measures to improve performance in the field of planning so that it is not limited to neighborhood units only, but includes all white areas in Sana'a governorate and the outskirts of the capital secretariat, as well as the r est of the province. He pointed out that the leadership of the two ministries will work to follow up on the issuance of the necessary laws and legislation to advance this sector away from the randomness and improvisation that prevailed in the work throughout the past periods, which caused the emergence of many problems facing investment and service provision. For his part, the Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment explained that the planning mechanism according to neighborhood units is no longer useful, which requires moving to modern planning methods and means that allow planning large areas. He stressed the keenness to stimulate capital to invest in the field of providing infrastructure that encourages investment in the areas that will be allocated for real estate investment.. indicating that the lack of service infrastructure such as sewage, electricity and other services is one of the most important problems facing investment. While the Deputy Minister of Transport and Public Works stressed the importance of focusing on addressing the problems facing planning, due to its importance in encouraging investment in the real estate sector. The meeting reviewed the progress made by the Committee for Studying and Updating the Building Law and its Executive Regulations, in completing the required amendments to the law and its regulations. He approved the formation of a technical committee to create a comprehensive matrix to address the problems in the current situation, as well as to organize work in the future, especially with regard to planning and construction work, granting licenses and identifying suitable areas for investment in the construction of residential towers.
