Doha: Qatar News Agency concluded a training course Thursday titled "Crafting News Stories for New Media in the Era of Evolving News," with participation from journalists from QNA and the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA). The five-day training course, held at QNA's training halls, aimed to enhance the skills of journalists working in news agencies, particularly those involved in publishing news stories on new media and social media platforms. The course focused on familiarizing participants with QNA's experience in publishing news stories on the agency's website and its social media pages, in addition to drawing on the expertise of Kuwaiti journalists in the fields of media, news editing, and social media publishing. The training program included theoretical and practical lessons on editing and publishing techniques used in new media, with an emphasis on hands-on training to improve journalists' abilities to handle the two key characteristics of this new media format: speed and reach. At the end of the course, the trainees presented final projects that reflected the editorial skills and practical knowledge they had acquired during the training. Such courses are significant for their ability to provide specialized training spaces for journalists who deal with social media as sources of news and produce news by allowing them to create publishable journalistic content for new media and influencing how audiences receive human-interest stories. QNA offers high-quality technical equipment and professional human resources. Its training halls provide an outstanding training experience for both journalists and trainers, aligning with the agency's values, mission, and future vision to enhance media efficacy, making it an indispensable training platform in the Gulf and regional media landscape.
