Doha: The State of Qatar welcomed the Slovenian Parliament's ratification of the government's decision to recognize the State of Palestine, and considered it an important step that reflects the growing support of the international community for the two-state solution towards achieving peace and stability in the region. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed, in a statement today, the State of Qatar's hope that more countries would recognize the State of Palestine and enhance efforts aimed at implementing the two-state solution. The Ministry stressed that achieving comprehensive and just peace in the region is fully depending on the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
