Brussels, The State of Qatar participated in the meeting of senior officials on Afghanistan, which was held on Tuesday at the European Union (EU) headquarters in Brussels. The State of Qatar's delegation to the meeting was headed by HE Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al Henzab, Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In a speech at the meeting, HE the Ambassador Al Henzab underlined that the State of Qatar has been making various efforts to support the aspirations of the Afghan people to achieve security and stability, noting that this is evident in the mediation efforts that culminated in the signing of the Doha Peace Agreement in Afghanistan in February 2020. His Excellency also affirmed that the State of Qatar will continue these efforts through Doha's hosting of the meetings of the special envoys concerned with Afghanistan called for by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. HE the Ambassador pointed out that the Doha platform provides an opportunity to move forward in implementing huma nitarian programs and initiatives that provide aid, meet basic needs, and improve economic and social conditions for all Afghans.
