Qatar Museums Presents Diverse Program in Art and Culture in June

Doha: Qatar Museums presents a schedule full of new activities and events during the coming weeks, as part of the continuing role of museums in enriching the countrys cultural scene. The museum tours, which will be held at various institutions affiliated with Qatar Museums, include arts and crafts workshops, open day events, musical events, and storytelling sessions. Among these events, the Qatar Creative Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the fields of fashion, design and technology is organizing two embroidery workshops. The first will be held to teach adults the art of traditional Palestinian embroidery on May 28, while the second will be allocated to adolescents and will be held on Jun. 1, exploring the distinctive history of Palestinian embroidery and its techniques that tell stories about the identity and resilience of Gazas women. During the month of June, the Museum of Islamic Art will offer a variety of artistic workshops, storytelling sessions, and a family day organized monthly, in a ddition to activities for children, the most prominent of which is a workshop to be held on June 5 to introduce the history of the museums most important collections of Islamic carpets and a musical evening to be held. In the museums lobby, with a live performance by the Doha Band, and on June 6, an event (escape room) will be organized and held in cooperation with Virginia Commonwealth University, where the room will explore different aspects of Islamic sciences. Participants will also learn through the rooms about calligraphy, Islamic sciences and inventions, and science, Astronomy, preserving Islamic art objects, uncovering hidden knowledge, and unraveling mysteries along the way will take place every Tuesday and Thursday until September 2, 2024. The Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (1-2-3) will host a number of activities during the next month, including events around the sports of hockey and taekwondo, an open day event for families, an event before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympics, and a story-telli ng session for children, in addition to celebrating World Olympic Day on Jun. 23, 2024, which features an exciting day full of activities centered around Olympic values such as respect, friendship and self-confidence. The Qatar Photo Festival "Tasweer" will host two lectures in June at the Fire Station Cinema, in the Fire Station, at the Artists Headquarters, one of which is titled "We Are Humans" by Sami Al Rumayyan, a member of the jury, in which he discusses his journey in documentary photography in the humanitarian field, which culminated in him obtaining the Humanitarian Photography Grant. The Qatar National Museum organizes many activities throughout the month of June, including storytelling sessions, guided tours, and workshops held every Sunday and Tuesday morning, through which children can explore the picturesque nature and collect its unique treasures, from tree leaves to wood sticks and rocks.
