The Conventions and Recommendations Committee of the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) held its meetings, chaired by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to UNESCO Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Hanzab. The meetings discussed the committee's agenda, which include all issues related to the implementation of UNESCO's normative instruments, such as the conventions and recommendations assigned to the organization's Executive Board, whose work continues until the 23rd of this month. The committee is scheduled to examine reports received from member states on the implementation of UNESCO's conventions and recommendations, and to study and discuss reports and complaints received by the organization regarding issues, questions and violations related to human rights in UNESCO's areas of competence, such as the right to education, the protection of educational institutions, the right to cultural life and the protection of journalists.
