Geneva: The State of Qatar has reaffirmed its belief that the right to education is a fundamental right enshrined in international and regional human rights instruments and reinforced by national laws, emphasizing the necessity of providing, protecting, and promoting equal access to education for all individuals. This came in a statement delivered by Third Legal Researcher at the Department of International Organizations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nooh Mohammed Nooh Al Mutawa, during the "Interactive Dialogue on the Report of the Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education," as part of the 56th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. Al Mutawa highlighted that education is a central pillar in the human development framework of Qatar National Vision 2030, aimed at equipping individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute to societal advancement and progress. He noted that Qatar has worked diligently to enhance the right to access educational and training opportunities by pr oviding quality education to all on an equal basis, promoting scientific research, and expanding innovation and development. He further explained that Qatar has made substantial investments in establishing educational and research facilities and has fostered cooperation and partnerships between the government, the private sector, and academic institutions. Al Mutawa pointed to the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Strategy 2030, which works to establish scientific research as an essential element in the research, development and innovation ecosystem in Qatar, and has succeeded, thanks to this strategic vision, in consolidating its position as a leading country in the field of education.
