Doha: The Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth Chairman of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 Organizing Committee, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani, commended Jordan's football squad for raising the tournament's technical level. In an interview with Qatari sports media on Tuesday, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa shared his aspirations for the success of the Jordanian team and other Arab squads partaking in the 2023 Asian Cup, expressing his desire for them to advance to later stages of the competition. Furthermore, he praised the performance of the Jordanian team in their recent match against South Korea, highlighting the exceptional skills demonstrated by the (Nashama) players and their impressive display from a technical standpoint. Despite the challenge posed by a strong opponent like South Korea, the team's management under coach Hussein Ammouta, combined with the high level of the players, allowed them to showcase their distinctive abilities, he added. Additionally, the Qatari minister emphasized that the Jordanian team had engaged in friendly matches as part of their preparations for the Asian Cup, which included a notable triumph over the Qatar team in a friendly encounter.
