Criminal Investigation officers have identified and arrested a burglar who killed and robbed a 70-year-old woman in Amman two weeks ago, the Public Security Department's (PSD) media spokesman said Tuesday. He said police found the body of the woman inside her home in the East Amman neighborhood of Al Hashemi and opened an investigation during which the suspect confessed to the crime. He told investigators he pushed and strangled the victim and fled the scene with some jewelry, said the spokesperson. The case was referred to the High Criminal Court's Public Prosecutor, who remanded the suspect in custody at a reform and rehabilitation center for 15 days on murder and robbery charges, the spokesman said.
