Amman: The Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates is following up on the search for missing pilgrims, the burial of Jordanian pilgrims who died while performing the Hajj, and the transportation of the bodies of those whose families wish to have their bodies transferred to Jordan at the expense of the government. Head of the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, said that 41 burial permits for Jordanian pilgrims, may God have mercy on them, to be buried in Mecca based on the desire of their families, all of whom are not part of the official Jordanian Hajj mission, were issued by the Jordanian Consulate General team in Mecca as part of the crisis cell formed by the ministry. Ambassador Qudah emphasized that the ministry's cell, which operates around-the-clock in collaboration with the Jordanian embassy in Riyadh, the Jordanian Consulate General in Jeddah, the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and the H oly Places mission for the Hajj, is monitoring the procedures for burying Jordanian pilgrims who passed away during the Hajj after suffering from heat stroke as a result of the extreme heat wave. Additionally, the cell is tracking missing pilgrims and ensuring their swift return to the Kingdom. He expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the deceased pilgrims, may God have mercy on them. Ambassador Qudah expressed gratitude to the competent Saudi authorities for helping the Jordanian Consulate General team in Mecca. They helped identify the remains, provided the required medical attention, and facilitated the funeral and body transportation processes to the Kingdom.
