Ramallah - Ma'an - The Commission for Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club said this evening, Thursday, that the detainee, Wafaa Jarrar (49 years old), from Jenin, is still in intensive care in the Israeli (Afula) Hospital, and she is hypnotized under anesthesia, after undergoing... Yesterday, she underwent surgery on one of her feet. According to doctors, her condition is stable so far. The authority and the club explained in a joint statement that a computed tomography (CT) scan was performed on her today, and it was found that she was suffering from several injuries to her body, including a spinal injury. The occupation forces had arrested Jarrar after storming her home in Jenin, during the aggression they launched against the city and its camp during the past two days, before the occupation announced that she was injured later. In a previous statement, the Prisoners' Commission and the Prisoners' Club held the occupation authorities fully responsible for the fate of detainee Jarrar, the wife of detainee Abdul Jabbar Jarrar (54 years old) from Jenin, who has been in administrative detention since last February. The commission and the club confirmed that the arrest of Jarrar is nothing but a new crime, which comes within the framework of the ongoing occupation crimes, which have escalated in an unprecedented manner in terms of their intensity since the ongoing war of extermination against our people in Gaza and the comprehensive aggression against our people, including the systematic arrest campaigns that targeted groups. All, including children, women, and the elderly, which were accompanied by unprecedented intensity of abuse and torture. It is worth mentioning that the number of arrests from the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, after October 7 reached no less than (8840), and this figure includes those who were arrested and kept in detention by the occupation and those who were later released. The number of detainees in the occupation prisons as of the beginn ing of this May reached more than 9,300, and this figure does not include all the detainees in Gaza, as the occupation continues to refuse to disclose comprehensive and clear data about them.
