Ramallah: Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mustafa has called for practical steps to advance the two-state solution and strengthen the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. In a phone conversation with Kaja Kallas, the newly appointed EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, he emphasized the need for unified international efforts to establish a Palestinian state and urged the global community to act on United Nations resolutions as a foundation for a just and enduring peace.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the Prime Minister highlighted the urgent necessity to cease Israeli aggression and ensure humanitarian aid access, alongside creating conditions favorable for Gaza’s reconstruction post-aggression. He also stressed the importance of collaborating with the international community to gather necessary resources for these initiatives.
Mustafa expressed gratitude towards the European Union for its financial aid in 2024, urging the swift
approval of a comprehensive package by the European Council and Parliament to mitigate the severe financial crisis attributed to Israeli actions and deductions from Palestinian clearance revenues. He reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to implementing an institutional reform agenda, which aligns with President Mahmoud Abbas’s mandate and the Government’s work program.
The Prime Minister congratulated Kallas on her appointment, acknowledging her significant contributions during her tenure as Estonia’s Prime Minister. He noted the increasing complexities in the Middle East, particularly in Palestine, and underscored the vital role of the European Union in promoting stability and peace in the region.
