President makes phone call with Iranian President

Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, today made a telephone call to his brother, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian. During the call, President Al-Mashat congratulated the President of the Iranian Republic on his victory in the elections and gaining the trust of the brotherly Iranian people. He considered the success of the Iranian elections a victory for the Iranian people and the Iranian revolution, expressing his aspiration to strengthen the relationship between the two countries in various fields. His Excellency President Al-Mashat thanked the Leader of the Iranian Revolution and the Iranian people for their positions of support and advocacy for the oppressed Palestinian people. For his part, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to His Excellency President Mahdi Al-Mashat, Chairman of the Supreme Political Council of the Republic of Yemen, for calling and offering him congratulations on his victory in the Iranian elections. He praised the courageous decisio n of the Yemeni leadership and the Yemeni people to support the Palestinian people. He said, "The Yemenis entered this battle with all courage, and certainly the Iranian people and free peoples appreciate what Yemen has done under these difficult circumstances." President Pezeshkian added, "We see that some Muslim countries acted according to their interests and contented themselves with issuing statements, and of course the free peoples will prosecute the rulers who did not move to stop the crimes committed by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people." He pointed out that the roots of the bitter events taking place in the region are the result of the presence of the Zionist entity in the region and the subversive policies of the West, stressing that 'the commonalities between Yemen and Iran are deep-rooted, but we look forward during this stage to more relations between the two countries.' The Iranian President expressed hope that the siege on the Yemeni people would be lifted and that peace woul d be established in Yemen, asking God Almighty for success, progress and prosperity for the Yemeni leadership and people.
