His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met today,Monday, with the Chairman of the General Authority for Zakat, Sheikh Shamsan Abu Nashtan. During the meeting, the Abu Nashtan presented a report to the President Al-Mashat, on the Authority's projects and achievements during the past year. President Al-Mashat directed Zakat Authority to pay attention to economic empowerment projects for the poor and give them priority, as this would contribute to enabling the poor to rely on themselves and providing job opportunities to eliminate unemployment and poverty. He also directed the Authority, in partnership with businessmen and financiers, to pay attention to economic empowerment projects, as they are the most appropriate solution to help the poor by providing them with job opportunities. President Al-Mashat praised the success of the project to provide medical services to the poor, needy, and the poorest families in the Republican Hospital at the expense of the Gener al Authority of Zakat. He also praised the financiers and businessmen who were committed to paying zakat, and directed the competent authorities to quickly grant them the privileges that had been approved and provide them with all facilities.
