President Abbas Meets Jordanian Charity Leader in Ramallah

Ramallah: President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas received Hussein Al-Shibli, Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah. The meeting was also attended by Issam Al-Bdour, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the State of Palestine.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Secretary-General briefed President Abbas on the projects conducted by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization aimed at supporting the Palestinian people. These efforts include the delivery of aid to alleviate hardships, particularly in the Gaza Strip, following the directives of King Abdullah II, who emphasizes the necessity of providing comprehensive support to the Palestinian people and their leadership in their pursuit of freedom and independence.

President Abbas expressed gratitude to King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people for their steadfast support of the Palestinian cause across various domains. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, as well as Jordanian state institutions, in offering medical services in Gaza and the West Bank, treating the injured, and working to relieve the suffering of the Palestinian people.

The President highlighted the importance of eliminating Israeli barriers to expedite the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, where residents face severe challenges. He conveyed deep appreciation on behalf of the Palestinian people for Jordan's supportive stance on Palestinian rights and resilience.

President Abbas also applauded the positions of King Abdullah II and Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah in opposing displacement and backing the Palestinian aspiration for independence, with East Jerusalem as the capital. He acknowledged the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan's role in preserving Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem under Hashemite custodianship.
