Hebron: Israeli forces detained 56 Palestinians, including two women, from the Hebron governorate on Thursday. The arrests, prominently occurring in the town of Beit Ummar north of Hebron, were accompanied by harassment against the town's residents.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces conducted raids in the Wadi al-Hariya and Khirbet Qalqas areas south of Hebron city, detaining ten Palestinians. In a simultaneous military incursion into the towns of Deir Samet and al-Burj, west of Hebron, four Palestinians were taken into custody. During these operations, soldiers reportedly broke into multiple homes and ransacked their contents.
In the northern town of Beit Ummar, Israeli troops executed a second consecutive day of mass detentions and raids, targeting most homes and converting many into military outposts. These operations were marked by abuse against residents and the deliberate destruction of their property, as the occupation forces imposed a tight siege, declaring the area a closed military zone and sealing off all entrances and exits, thus restricting the movement of residents.
The operation impacted over 40 citizens, including two women, who were held in the town's stadium.
