RAMALLAH: The Palestinian presidency warned of the dangerous demands of the Israeli occupation authorities on the people of Khan Yunis to leave their homes and move south to Rafah, particularly since the majority of them were displaced from the north and center of the Strip due to the ongoing aggression. The president slammed this Israeli demand as a war crime that cannot be tolerated. The presidency, in a statement, warned the international community against the evident intentions of the Israeli occupation authorities to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland, thus leading to unforeseeable consequences. The presidency called on the international community, and the US administration in particular, to intervene immediately to prevent Israel from committing this serious major crime, which he stressed violates all international agreements and conventions and international law. He stressed that it is long overdue for the US administration and the international community to take serious decisions and actions to stop this iniquitous aggression which has led the region to this dangerous situation, which the president maintained would portend further explosion in the situation. The presidency said that the Palestinian leadership will address the UN Security Council to convene an emergency and urgent session to confront this serious crime. It stressed that this insane Israeli escalation, genocide and the existential threat facing the Palestinian people could spiral into bigger conflict in the region and lead to uncontrollable consequences. The presidency said that aside from Israel's continuation of its war on Gaza, it has escalated its aggression on Jerusalem and its holy sites as well as on West Bank cities, villages and camps. It said that Israel's continued challenging of the Palestinian people and defiance of international law will not bring security and peace for it or others, stressing that peace and security can only be achieved through political solutions based on a two-state solution. The p residency noted that the war on Gaza has so far led to the killing of more than 25,000 civilians and the wounding of more than 64,000 others. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency
