RAMALLAH: Nabil Abu Rudeineh, spokesman for President Mahmoud Abbas, stated tonight that the approval by the US House of Representatives for a bill providing $26 billion in military aid to Israel translates into thousands of Palestinian casualties in Gaza, with the latest being in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank. Abu Rudeineh emphasized that 'US security aid [to Israel] constitutes a dangerous escalation and aggression against the Palestinian people, giving Israel the green light to expand the scope of war to include the entire countries of the region.' He stressed that stability in Palestine is the only gateway to stability in the region and the world. He condemned the aid package approved by the US House of Representatives in favor of Israel, questioning the credibility of the United States in achieving security and stability in the Middle East by supporting the far-right Israeli government, which is continuing its onslaught on Gaza for the 197th day in a row. Abu Rudeineh pointed out that Israel co ntinues its aggression on Tulkarm in the West Bank for the third consecutive day, resulting in the killing of more than 13 citizens and the complete destruction of infrastructure, following similar actions in Jenin. The presidential spokesman affirmed that 'the US persists in supporting the far-right government, which backs colonist attacks in the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and has halted support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), which aids Palestinian refugees.'
