The Presidency of the Parliament, in its meeting on Monday, headed by the Speaker of the House and Chairman of the Board, Yahya Ali Al-Ra'i, continued its discussion of a number of important issues and topics related to the Council's tasks in the legislative and oversight aspects. At its meeting, the Commission addressed the latest developments in events, strongly denouncing the Arab and international silence regarding the brutal massacres committed by Zionist war criminals in completion of a new chapter of the genocidal war in Rafah. This came after the Zionist threats to carry out a military operation in Rafah, warning of its dire catastrophic consequences. The Commission denounced the shameful Arab and Islamic failure regarding the statements issued by officials in the Zionist entity regarding the intention of the Zionist enemy forces to launch a military operation in the city of Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, which began today with an attack on the city of Rafah and committing many horrific crimes agai nst the residents. The Presidency of the House of Representatives called on the Arab, regional and international parliaments and the free people of the world to move quickly and apply pressure by all available means to enforce international law and deter the Zionist occupation entity from committing more horrific brutal massacres against the Palestinian people and avoid a new humanitarian catastrophe in Rafah that will be added to the criminal record of the Zionist entity. The Commission called for the necessity of uniting all international and regional efforts to prevent further massacres in the city of Rafah, which is home to approximately one and a half million Palestinian citizens who were displaced there as it is the last safe area in the Gaza Strip. It considered that targeting Rafah comes within the framework of the policy of forced displacement of the people, increasing their suffering, and liquidating their cause, in clear violation of the provisions of international and humanitarian law, and the relevant resolutions of the Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly.
