The Popular Mobilization Commission stated in a statement that: "Within the night security practices and monitoring of the points deployed in the sector of responsibility east of Salah al-Din Governorate, the Third Regiment of the 22nd Brigade within the Northern and Eastern Tigris Operations Command intensified its security deployment in Al-Aith Island." It explained: "This measure aims to prevent any possible infiltration cases in the area, and to provide the necessary protection for the residents from any security threats."
