THE VATICAN: Pope Francis appealed on Monday for peace in the Holy Land and the city of Jerusalem, stressing the need to respect the status quo at the holy sites. Following the recitation of the Angelus prayer, Pope Francis appealed for an immediate ceasefire and relief to the people of Gaza, where he stressed many diseases are spreading, such as polio.
