RAMALLAH: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mohammad Mustafa, discussed with British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falconer, the latest developments in the region, including efforts exerted to stop the aggression of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and allow the introduction of more aid to the Gaza Strip to meet the emergency needs of its population. The Prime Minister called on the British government to take serious and effective action against Israel's colonial expansion and terrorism. Mustafa praised Britain's issuance of a joint statement, along with France and Germany, in which they stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the introduction of aid without restrictions. He also praised the resumption of the British government's support for UNRWA, and its provision of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. For his part, Falconer stressed the need for a ceasefire in Gaza, expressing concern over the deteriora ting humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip and the risk of escalation in the region.
