A 21-year-old Palestinian youth identified as Adnan Issam Zaid was shot dead by Israeli occupation forces in the early hours of this morning during an Israeli military incursion into the city of Qalqilya, north of the occupied West Bank, according to local sources. Israeli occupation forces opened random gunfire while conducting search and arrest raids that targeted several homes in the city, the sources said. The indiscriminate shooting resulted in Zaid being critically injured in cold blood while on his way to work at a local bakery, before he was announced dead of his wounds shortly later. Simultaneously, confrontations erupted between groups of local youth and the Israeli occupation forces, with some Israeli military units positioning themselves on rooftops overlooking the main streets and neighborhoods across the city. In response to the tragic incident, a general strike was declared today in Qalqilya in mourning of martyr Adnan Zaid. The city is united in grief, expressing solidarity with the victim 's family and condemnation of Israel's cold-blooded murder policy in the occupied territories.
