HEBRON: A Palestinian Friday evening sustained wounds from Israeli army gunfire in the Beit Ummar town, south of Hebron, according to a local activist. Mohammad Awad, a media activist, said that Israeli occupation forces stormed the southern West Bank town of Beit Ummar and opened fire towards the town residents and their houses, injuring a young man with a live round in the shoulder and causing others to suffocate from tear gas. Meanwhile, the occupation forces raided as-Samou' town, south of Hebron, and assaulted a young man, inflicting wounds and bruises across his body. The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for 'wanted' Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents. These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers. Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised. Source: Palestine news & Information Agency – WAFA
