NABLUS: A Palestinian Wednesday evening sustained an injury in an Israeli colonist attack on the Qusra village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources. They said that colonists, under military protection, attacked civilians' houses, southeast of the village, prompting the civilian residents to attempt to fend off the attack and triggering confrontations. During the course of confrontations, the gun-toting soldiers fired volleys of live ammunition, concussion grenades and tear gas canisters at the residents, injuring a resident with a live round in the pelvis. The soldiers detained a resident during the raid into the village. Colonist violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities. Colonist violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others. Over 700,000 Israeli colonists are living in colo nies across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law. Source: Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA
