Mahmoud Habbash, Advisor to the Palestinian President, said that Jordan's hosting of the meeting of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee entrusted to launch international action to stop the war on Gaza is based on Jordan's leading role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting the Palestinian cause, as well as its important role in safeguarding Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem. Habbash told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that this meeting is part of a series of ongoing Arab and Islamic efforts (to stop the Israeli aggression in Gaza and the West Bank). "The Palestinian cause is currently at a dangerous crossroads that calls for coordinated Arab-Islamic efforts and coordination to deal with the fallout from ongoing developments in Gaza and the West Bank, as well as the flagrant violations by the Israeli occupation to alter the legal and historical status quo in Al-Aqsa Mosque," Habbash added. The Palestinian president's advisor highlighted the importance of translatin g Arab efforts into tangible measures, rather than platitudes, in order to put an end to the ongoing war against Gaza and the West Bank.
