Ramallah - Ma'an - The Palestinian representative to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, confirmed on Tuesday that Israel has taken punitive measures against the Palestinians and continues settlement activities "because it is confident of continuing impunity." Mansour stressed, during a UN Security Council session on the situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian issue, on Tuesday, that the time has come to 'put an end to Israel's impunity.' He considered that the goal of officials in Israel is to "sabotage" the American initiative without anyone condemning them, stressing that the best way to thwart the goals of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He continued: "Every country has a responsibility to ensure that all its institutions do not contribute in any way to Israel's crimes against the Palestinian people." Source: Maan News Agency
