A Pakistani soldier and two militants were killed in a shooting incident that took place in Pakistan's southwestern province of Balochistan. According to Radio Pakistan, citing sources from the Pakistani army, unidentified gunmen attacked a security post last night in the Zhob area of the province, where an exchange of fire took place that left two militants and one Pakistani soldier dead. The army also said that the militants killed during the operation were involved in targeting security forces and carrying out sabotage activities in the area. Pakistani forces have been engaged for years in efforts to eliminate armed groups entrenched in the mountainous borders and periodically launch attacks against security personnel and civilians.
