New york: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has announced its strong condemnation and categorical rejection of Israel's intention to impose full military control over the Gaza Strip. This statement was made on Tuesday, emphasizing the group's opposition to the recent developments. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Deputy Permanent Representative of Trkiye to the UN, Fikriye Asli Gven, expressed the OIC's views to reporters. Gven emphasized that the OIC considers this announcement a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law. The organization sees it as an attempt to solidify illegal occupation and impose a fait accompli by force, contravening international law, humanitarian law, and relevant United Nations resolutions. Ambassador Gven further stated that the OIC views Israel's declared actions as a continuation of grave violations, including killing, starvation, forced displacement, and annexation of Palestinian land. The OIC demanded the immediate cessati on of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and called for an end to ongoing violations against civilians and infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and East Jerusalem. The OIC also urged Israel to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza unconditionally, ensuring the operation of relief agencies in accordance with international humanitarian law. Moreover, the Turkish diplomat conveyed the group's support for efforts by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States to achieve a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement as a step towards de-escalation and ending the aggression. The OIC called for implementing the Arab Islamic Reconstruction Plan of the Gaza Strip and highlighted the importance of the upcoming reconstruction conference in Cairo. Ambassador Gven reiterated the group's stance against the displacement of Palestinians and called for the preservation of the status quo of holy sites in Jerusalem, recognizing the role of Hashemite custodianship. She affirmed that a just peace can only be achieved through t he Two-state solution. The OIC holds Israel responsible for the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and urges the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take action against Israel's aggressive policies. Meanwhile, Palestinian Ambassador Riyad Mansour announced that the High-Level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution will resume on September 22 in New York.
