Occupation Committing Severe Violations Against Gaza Detainees, Reports Palestinian Organizations.

Gaza: The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) and the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission have reported that Israeli occupation authorities are committing severe violations against detainees from the Gaza Strip. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the PPS and the Commission issued a joint statement on Sunday highlighting that the occupation forces particularly committed these violations during the detention and in the initial stages of detention inside the detention camps. The joint statement revealed that teams from the PPS and the Commission have managed to visit approximately 30 detainees from the Gaza Strip. These detainees are held under harsh conditions and stringent restrictions in Israeli prisons, specifically in the Negev and Ofer facilities. Among this group were medical staff who had been detained at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza, either within the hospital or through so-called 'safe corridors.' The detainees' testimonies underscored the severity of the brutality i mposed by the occupation forces. The statement noted that the visits, conducted on November 6th and 7th, confirmed a series of systematic and ongoing crimes. These accounts particularly emphasize methods of physical and psychological torture, as well as systematic humiliation. The detainees have made an urgent appeal for winter clothing as the cold weather intensifies, especially in the Negev prison during nighttime. They lack appropriate winter clothing and only have light blankets, which fail to provide adequate warmth. Furthermore, the prison administration reportedly removes mattresses and blankets at dawn, returning them only late at night. This practice has contributed to the spread of scabies, as blankets from all sections, including both infected and non-infected rooms, are gathered together, facilitating disease transmission. Additionally, there is a severe lack of basic personal hygiene supplies.
