SALFIT: Israeli occupation authorities today decided to seize a tract of land belonging to the Deir Istiya town, northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Salfit, according to a local official. Mayor of Deir Istiya, Feras Dhiyab, said that the Israeli occupation forces handed the municipality an order to take over 1,700 m² of land belonging to the town to make room for the construction of a water cistern and pipelines extending from Wadi Qana, west of the town, to a nearby colony. He added that the occupation forces uprooted olive trees from the cultivated land of a local farmer from the town at Wadi al-Ma'aser to make room for the installation of a water pipeline and sewage network for a nearby colony.
