JORDAN: The Israeli occupation authorities today renewed a decision for the appropriation of dozens of dunums in the al-Baqi'a Plain, in the northern Jordan Valley, said a local official. Mutaz Bsharat, an official in charge of monitoring Israeli colonial activities in the Jordan Valley, said the occupation authorities renewed an appropriation order issued against 91 dunums of land belonging to Palestinians in the al-Baqi'a Plain. The Israeli military has designated about 46 percent of the Jordan Valley as a closed military zone since the beginning of the occupation in June 1967. It has been utilizing the pretext of military drills to forcefully displace Palestinian families living there as part of a policy of ethnic cleansing and stifling Palestinian development in the area.
