JERICHO: This morning, Israeli occupation authorities compelled residents in the Arab al-Melehat community, located northwest of Jericho, to self-demolish a solar energy facility that provided electricity to the area. Hassan Melehat, the General Supervisor of the Bedouin Rights Organization, reported to WAFA that Israeli authorities enforced the demolition of a solar panel room that supplied essential electrical power to the community. He said residents were forced to do so to avoid hefty fines imposed by the occupation authorities. As a result of this forced demolition, the community now faces a severe lack of electricity. The situation is exacerbated by high temperatures, making the absence of electrical power a critical issue for residents who rely on it for basic needs and services.
