At least nine people died Saturday after a boat carrying migrants from Africa capsized near the Spanish Canary Islands. The Spanish Maritime Safety Agency said in a statement that the boat had 84 migrants on board, 27 of whom were rescued from the water, while search efforts for 48 others are still ongoing off the coast of the El Hierro Island.
