The National Security Service freed a kidnapped person and arrested a kidnapping gang in Diyala Governorate. A statement by the Service's media said, "After investigating, collecting information, monitoring the kidnappers and determining their location, the raid operation was launched and two of the kidnappers were arrested in an ambush in the Khalis area." He added, "During the immediate investigation with them, they confessed to the location of the victim, and as a result, the Service's detachments began raiding the place where the kidnapped person was being held, freeing him and arresting the rest of the gang members.
