Muslim World League Applauds UK’s Decision to Recognize State of Palestine

London: The Muslim World League has expressed its approval of the UK government's recent declaration to recognize the State of Palestine and back the two-state solution. This announcement was made by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and further detailed by UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Secretary David Lammy. The decision was revealed during a high-level international conference focused on resolving the Palestinian issue through peaceful means, co-chaired by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the French Republic.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the General Secretariat of the Muslim World League released a statement from His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, the Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association. He praised the British government's announcement as an important historic step, noting that it aligns with the legitimate and responsible support of the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people. Dr. Al-Issa emphasized that this decision is essential for achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region.

His Excellency urged all nations to fulfill their responsibilities regarding the injustices faced by the Palestinian people. He called for global support for truth and justice, the upholding of international legitimacy, and efforts to end the humanitarian challenges faced by Palestinians, which have significant regional and international implications.
